How to choose the perfect light fittings for your kitchen
Lighting in the kitchen is key to the functionality and aesthetics of the space. General lighting, which covers the basic illumination of the whole room, is best achieved with ceiling lights such as recessed LED luminaires or light panels that provide even illumination.

Chandeliers are suitable for kitchens with high ceilings as they add a decorative element. For work lighting, which is essential for preparation areas, under-cabinet lighting such as LED strips or spotlights can be used to illuminate work surfaces. Recessed lights above the kitchen island or counters are also effective. Ambient lighting adds warmth and depth to a room, which can be achieved by recessed LED lights in the ceiling or walls, or by illuminating cabinets with LED strips inside or under the cabinets.

Decorative lighting can highlight certain parts of the kitchen. Pendant lights over the kitchen island or dining table and spotlights overhead to highlight artwork or architectural details are good choices. It is also practical to use dimmer switches, which allow you to adjust the intensity of the light according to your needs, and to choose energy-efficient bulbs such as LED bulbs, which are cheaper and more durable in the long term.

Finally, it is important to consider the colour temperature of the luminaires, as this affects the atmosphere in the kitchen. Warm white light is suitable for a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, while cool white light is better for work areas where more visibility and concentration are needed. The right combination of different types of lighting and luminaires can significantly improve the user experience and aesthetics of your kitchen.
