Tuula Jusélius and Seppo Koho, the founders of Secto Design, started out making high-end wooden furniture, but soon realised that there was a shortage of quality wooden lamps on the market. So they decided to create their own. Their goal was clear: the lamps should provide harmonious lighting without the distracting glare of visible bulbs.
Secto Design is still successfully implementing this concept today. All the lamps are handmade in Finland and meet strict sustainability standards. The emphasis is on PEFC-certified wood, especially birch, which boasts strong and resilient fibres. While the light source remains hidden, the light itself plays a key role, creating fascinating patterns on the walls and floor and providing fascinating illumination.
